Andrew Wilson Complete

Tuesday, December 29, 2009
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition We have officially completed the construction of the new division and remodel of the existing part of Andrew Wilson Elementary School, located right in New Orleans.

The neighborhood-run charter school is currently in a temporary facility, but will move into the rebuilt Wilson School building when it is completed.

The Wilson School, Keller Library & Broadmoor Community Center will serve as the anchors of the Education Corridor. The residents of Broadmoor decided to use education as the central and distinguishing concept around which they rebuild their neighborhood. The Wilson school will be made up of green LEED certified buildings.

We would like to thank everyone who was part of this project.

Take a look at the Andrew Wilson completion gallery for picture of the school.

Helping Honduras

Helping Honduras
It is time again for us all to come together and do what we can for the people of Honduras. As you know, last year we were able to raise enough money to help two rest homes and several families with food baskets and cleaning supplies.

This year we want to do that, but raise the bar by helping more families and extending our donations to La Ceiba area orphanages.

Anything you can contribute counts. To give you an idea, $90.00 can feed a family of 6 for a month. As you can see, even a small donation can go a long way in Honduras.

If you feel inclined, you can donate via Paypal or via mail:

Paul Isaacks
C/O ITEC Drywall
6001 E Hwy 84
Gatesville, TX 76528

Additionally, you can send your pledge via email to donate@itecdrywall.com.

You can download the official flyer and pass it on to your friends and family.

A Special Thanks to Richard Riley, Tom Baird, Carl Brooks, Tim Tarpley, Ramone Medina, Rickey Shelton, Sarah Branham, Diana Hyrdrick and Tom Smallwood for donating to this great cause.

Black Hawk Bound
ITEC Drywall is headed to Black Hawk, Colorado this weekend to start a project with Roy Anderson Corp. The Project is a remodel of the Lady Luck Casino in Black Hawk, located 1 hour outside of Denver. This project is the kickoff for the much larger Isle Casino Hotel Remodel that is scheduled to start in January.

On board for this trip will be Paul Isaacks (ITEC General Project Manger), Cory Jeansonne (ITEC General Superintendent) and a handful of our top journeymen. We are very excited as this will be our first opportunity to work in western United States and develop a lasting relationship with a new general contractor, Roy Anderson Corp.

ITEC Reps on Site During Mag 7.1 Earthquake in Honduras

Paul and Debra Isaacks were on scene in Honduras, 80 miles away from the May 7.1 mag quake hit off of the beach in La Ceiba. The quake killed 6 and injured 40 as terrified residents fled from their homes.

An arial photo shows the couple leaving Honduras on the way to the airport, crossing on the other side of a bridge that had collapsed. Once Paul was sure Debra was home safe and sound, he returned to Honduras to continue development of ITEC’s Honduran venture.

Charity Food Drive in Honduras
While paperwork is being finalized for work planned in Honduras, ITEC took the time to put together a charity food drive. We were through the generous donations of friends, family, and colleagues we were about to raise $5,000. The money benefited two rest-homes (old folks home as they are called in Honduras) in Olanchito and La Ceiba and and was used to create food baskets that were given to randomly to some of the most needy.

Special Thanks to: Richard Riley, Diana Hydrick, Tom Baird, Jim Tucker Medmissions, Tim Tarpley, Randy Hitt, Trinity Women’s Ministry, Carl Brooks, Rodney Chambers, Sarah Brenham, Cory Jeansonne, Ramone Medina
